Understanding your options
Retirement is a big decision, and it's important to understand your options so you can choose the best plan for you. My Pension Expert will discuss our carefully selected providers and help you to understand the correct option to suit you. We will recommend a product that meets your income and capital needs in retirement. We may recommend more than one product.
Lifetime annuity
A lifetime annuity provides you with a secure, fixed, regular income for the rest of your life. The amount of income you receive is calculated at the start of your plan and is influenced by factors such as your age, health, and lifestyle.
Fixed-term annuity
A fixed-term annuity allows you to choose the length of your plan, from three years and upwards. During the term of your annuity, you will receive a fixed amount in income, with the remainder of the fund being available to you as a Guaranteed Maturity Amount at the end of the fixed-term.
Flexible-access Drawdown
Drawdown allows you to control how much income you would like to take from your fund and when. Your fund remains invested with the view to grow it further. However, it's important to remember that whenever you invest funds, your investment can go down as well as up. You should discuss your attitude to risk with your adviser. Invested capital is at risk.
When investing your capital is at risk. Past performance is not a guide to future performance.
If you invest in a Self-Invested Personal Pension (SIPP) or Personal Pension Plan, your pension pot is invested. Your income relies on the performance of your fund. Your fund value may fluctuate and can go down. Your income will depend on the size of the fund, the performance of the fund, the economic climate, and tax legislation.
